Patient Results Network (PRN) takes pride in providing a simple means of saving time, money and frustration for hundreds of health care practices nationwide. Our client base includes a variety of specialties from sole practitioners, multi specialty groups, clinics, college student health centers and various hospital departments - all sharing a common goal of communicating more effectively with their patient population. Patients are given an instruction card at the time of their visit explaining how and when to call and listen to their result. Messages are recorded in a familiar doctor, nurse or assistants voice for simple routine results as well as detailed follow up instructions.
Our system is accessed from any touchtone telephone 24 hours a day, without needing additional hardware, software or dedicated phone lines. The first month is offered on a trial basis at no charge or obligation. Thereafter we do not require a contract term.
PRN was developed in 1994 by a medical student at Rush Medical College in Chicago. He was doing a project with a group of physicians and realized there was no way for a physician to efficiently respond to the scores of telephone calls received from patients for lab results. He led a group of programmers in designing the initial system that was certainly ahead of its time. The goal was to keep it simple and not involve any additional equipment for physicians to deal with.
Initially it was offered only in the Chicago area through local telephone lines. As word spread and inquiries started coming in from around the country access was expanded nationwide through toll free 800 numbers. The company was acquired by its current management team in 1998, and relocated to Cleveland, Ohio.
The management group had extensive experience in the medical transcription industry and PRN was a natural fit. The company continues to grow with clients throughout the United States. Some of the original Chicago based clients continue to benefit from PRN today. |
